64 Years of Data Proves That the Bigger Kids Dream, the More Successful They'll Be.

A recent study by INC.com, analyzed surveys of 17,000 children conducted over 64 years and found the higher kids aimed in life, the more successful they became. The study analyzes surveys of 17,000 children conducted 10 times from 1958 up to the present day and finds that when it comes to how much kids achieve in life, big dreams matter as much if not more than IQ.

Dreaming big and creativity are closely correlated as they both involve the ability to think beyond what already exists and to generate new and innovative ideas. As an employer, you want your employees to achieve great things and thrive. According to a recent study by Gallup, a global analytics and advisory firm, fostering creativity in the workplace can lead to significant benefits for businesses.

Their study of over 16,500 employees revealed that companies that encourage and support creativity in their employees tend to have a more engaged workforce, which in turn leads to higher levels of productivity, profitability, and innovation.

Their research also found that many companies do not treat creativity as a job expectation, which is a missed opportunity for businesses to capitalize on this valuable asset. Only 29% of workers reported that they are expected to be creative or think of new ways to do things at work.

Maggie Wool from Better Up, notes that increased creativity in the workplace leads to increased job satisfaction and reduced absenteeism. When employees are given the freedom to experiment and try new things, they are more likely to come up with new ideas and solutions to problems. “Some of the top reasons for job dissatisfaction include a lack of interest, a lack of meaningful work, or feeling like you aren’t being heard. Enabling creativity can help alleviate these issues.”

To encourage creativity, Gallup suggests that companies give their employees time, permission, and freedom to be creative. Employees' ideas should be recognized, and managers should create an employee experience that is supportive, encourages innovation, and ensures that creativity is a cultural value to the organization.

Encouraging and enabling creativity among employees can lead to an environment that fosters innovation, growth and job satisfaction, benefiting both individual employees and the company.
